What is Powder Coating?
The Powder Coating Process at Intech Surface Coating
Our conveyorized powder coating plants are designed for efficiency and consistency. The process involves several critical steps:
1. Surface Pre-Treatment
Proper surface preparation is essential for optimal adhesion and finish quality. This involves:
Cleaning and Degreasing: Removal of oils, dirt, and other contaminants.
Chemical Treatment: Application of phosphate layers to enhance corrosion resistance and adhesion.
2. Automated Powder Application
Using electrostatic spray guns, the powder is uniformly applied to the grounded substrate. Our automated systems ensure consistent coating thickness and minimize material waste
3. Curing
The coated parts are conveyed through energy-efficient curing ovens, where they are heated to temperatures between 180°C to 200°C. This process melts the powder, allowing it to flow and form a continuous, durable film
4. Cooling and Inspection
Post-curing, the parts are cooled and subjected to rigorous quality inspections to ensure coating uniformity, adhesion, and finish consistency.
Advantages of Intech's Conveyorized Powder Coating Plants
Enhanced Efficiency and Productivity
Our conveyorized systems streamline the coating process, reducing manual handling and increasing throughput. This automation leads to higher daily production capacities and consistent product quality.
Superior Coating Quality
Automated spraying ensures even coverage, minimizing defects such as over-spraying and uneven finishes. The result is a high-quality, aesthetically pleasing finish that meets industry standards.
Environmental and Economic Benefits
Powder coating is an environmentally friendly process, emitting negligible volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Our advanced filtration and recovery systems further reduce powder loss, making the process cost-effective and sustainable.
